On Saturday 25 July, our volunteer crew were tasked by the UK Coastguard at 10.06am to attend to a cabin cruiser 1.5 miles from Dungeness that had suffered engine failure.
Our highly trained volunteers launched the lifeboat and were on scene within minutes. It was decided the casualty vessel needed to be towed to safety and so the lifeboat towed them to Dover.
The lifeboat then returned to station and was ready for service again at 5pm.
