Dungeness RNLI lifeboat crew member Natalie Adams was selected to sail on the Stavros S. Niarchos Training Ship for a week, sponsored by Trinity House

Dungeness RNLI lifeboat crew member, Natalie Adams applied for a place on the Stavro S. Niarchos training ship through the RNLI. She, along with ten other RNLI crew from around the country of between eighteen and twenty three years were sponsored for the week long trip by Trinity House, Trinity House do this every year. The boat is operated by the Tall Ships Youth Trust charity.

Natalie set sail from Falouth in Cornwall and with weather permitting the ship had planned to sail to the Channel Islands. However, the weather conditions were less than favourable so they sailed across to Cherbourg in France. After staying in port for a couple of days taking part in water sports and team building games, they sailed for the Solent, where they anchored for two days before docking in Southampton. Natalie said "It was a great sailing experience and one that I will never forget – I met some amazing people and put my RNLI training to the test. I hope to re-join the ship sometime next year as a volunteer helper"
